International Orientation (IO) gives international students the opportunity to get settled on campus before University Orientation begins.

MONDAY, AUG. 26

All day Airport shuttles and move into residence
Airport pick-ups will run from 9 a.m. If you are arriving by car, please stop by the Wallace McCain Student Centre (WMSC) to collect your residence keys between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Trip to shopping mall
Champlain Place is NB's largest shopping centre. Get all items that were too big to pack. You can also get your Canadian SIM card.  

Let's go to the beach!
L'Aboiteau Beach (Cap Pele, NB) A big tradition for IO! Let's go to the beach, enjoy a beautiful walk, play waterpolo with new friends and enjoy the view.

Why attend International Orientation?

You will:

  • meet fellow peers from all over the world and learn what to expect while living and studying at Mount A
  • have a chance explore campus and to discover what Mount Allison and the friendly town of Sackville have to offer
  • take part in information sessions, out-of-town trips, and social activities that provide opportunities to meet University staff and community members, and to make friends with other first-year students

During this time the International student advisor, along with international and Canadian student facilitators, familiarize students with academic and social aspects of life at Mount Allison and in Sackville.
