Mount Allison alumnus and Board chair named Fellow with CPA New Brunswick

Ron_OUterbridge_FCPA_Pres_BdChairSACKVILLE, NB – Ron Outerbridge, Mount Allison alumnus and chair of the University’s Board of Regents, was recently named a Fellow with the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) of New Brunswick. Outerbridge received his designation at the CPA NB Convocation ceremony held in Moncton on Feb. 2, 2019.

Outerbridge is President and CEO of Coast Tire & Auto Service, which is headquartered in Saint John, NB. He has served on Mount Allison University’s Board of Regents since 2009 in a number of roles, including chair of the Executive and the Finance and Administration Committees, vice-chair of the Board, and currently as chair of the Board. He also chaired the 2017 Presidential Search Committee for the University and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Symphony New Brunswick Foundation and the Board of the New Brunswick Medical Education Foundation Inc.

“Being named a Fellow with CPA NB is both a personal and professional milestone for me,” says Outerbridge. “I’m very proud of my involvement at Mount Allison and in the community, so to have these activities recognized by CPA NB is a real honour.”

Outerbridge holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Mount Allison and has a number of Allisonians in his family, including his father Herbert, wife Carol, and children Josh and Emily.

Mount Allison Commerce graduate and University Chancellor Lynn Loewen is also a Fellow (FCPA) and is currently President of Minogue Medical Inc., based in Montreal.

The Fellow (FCPA) title formally recognizes CPA members whose achievements and contributions, in their careers and in the community, have rendered exceptional service to the profession. Becoming a Fellow is the highest honour that can be bestowed on a CPA.

CPA New Brunswick is a professional organization representing more than 2,800 active and retired members and 300 future CPAs in New Brunswick. Each provincial CPA organization is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada), which represents more than 200,000 professional accountants across Canada and Bermuda, making it one of the top five accounting designations in the world.
